Exploring Johore Ramsar Wetlands

As a result of the UNEP Tunza International Children’s Conference on the Environment in 2006, YAWA is committed to follow up studies to protect more areas where plants and forests are endangered.   YAWA organised a trip to Johor to explore the wonders of the Ramsar wetlands, located around the areas of Tanjung Piai, Pulau Kukup and Sungai Pulai.
We are working in partnership with University Pertanian Putra Malaysia (UPM) in this programme.
“Program Perlindungan Pantai dan Muara Sungai (Tanaman Bakau & Nipah)” is an activity indicated in Jabatan Perhutanan Johor’s plan of activities for the year 2007 in conjunction with “Hari Perhutanan Sedunia ke-36 Peringkat Negeri Johor”.
